About Us
The National Audiovisual Institute (KAVI) and the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) have merged to form the Finnish Arts and Culture Agency. The new agency continues the former tasks of KAVI and Taike.
The Finnish Arts and Culture Agency was formed as part of the Ministry of Education and Culture’s Education and Culture Administration 2030 administrative reform project, within which the ministry’s administrative agencies are being combined into five main agencies. The administrative reform project promotes the operations of the education administration as a whole. The aim is to improve the service capacity and productivity of the administrative sector.
The transition to the new agency will not result in any changes to KAVI’s or Taike’s services, which can still be found on their websites, kavi.fi and taike.fi.
The Act on the Finnish Arts and Culture Agency entered into force on 1 January 2026, when the new agency begun operations.
